A lot of kids are faking their real age on myspace.
Should myspace create another myspace age-friendly for
pre-teens around 9 - 12.
You have to be 14 years old to join Myspace but, everyone knows kids can't wait that long...

Myspace for pre-teens (ages 9-12) ? I certainly think so. Kids want to do what the teenagers are doing, and that includes myspace in a big way. If they had their own restricted 9-12 area, I think that would go a long way in keeping them safe from predators. Obviously, there would still be a risk, but it would help.
Myspace for pre-teens (ages 9-12) ? This is a parental issue. I know it's got to be hard to regulate what your kids do on the internet but it is the parents respoinsibility. For example, why are there 10 year olds on here asking about sex?
It shouldn't be up the MySpace to protect kids from content. However if they made a special Tweeny Myspace they could direct their advertising toward that age bracket and charge more for it and make a killing so maybe they should from a business standpoint.
Myspace for pre-teens (ages 9-12) ? kids don't belong on myspace, i'm sorry. as an older sister, i know the cons of it! kids on myspace don't have enough cultural literacy to understand things like predators or when someone is preying on them. kids will add any random person, so they have more friends. they also give out too much information. kids on myspace are just begging for trouble.
i have a myspace, but i'm not stupid about it either.
also, it's very easy to lie about your age. so all predators would have to do is register as a child. simple as that.
Myspace for pre-teens (ages 9-12) ? It doesn't matter what MySpace does if the parents don't monitor their kids internet usage. If MySpace opened up a kid-friendly site, then pedofiles would just lie about their ages to be younger, just like the kids do to be older. If a parent talks with their kids, and monitors what they do on the net, then it shouldn't matter what MySpace does.

Myspace for pre-teens (ages 9-12) ? If there were one for kids that age, they would need parental permission to join and I bet a lot of parents don't want their kids on a site like that. Not to mention it would be a hassle to confirm that there is REALLY is permission.

Myspace for pre-teens (ages 9-12) ? Both my son(12) and my little sister(14) have myspaces and they dont talk to anyone other than their friends from school. I cant even view their myspaces without having been signed in and being on their friend list. I think everything is dangerous for a kid or anyone if they misuse it. Its a parents job to let their kids do thing such as have friends on myspace but to monitor it and make sure they are safe. I check my sons and little sisters (i have both passwords they dont know) while they're at school and i dont see anything too bad in there other than trying to get a girl to go out with his friend which is typical. Anything can be a bad situation you just have to watch them.
