It has some really crude things on it and some fake photos of me , and information that is not true. I told the school officals about it so they know its not really me. What should I do? It's got some nasty stuff on there that is totally not true. I know its a student from the spelling and besides who else would make a fake page about me? It has stuff on it with my class schedule of all the classes I teach and the phone number for my class room! Help!

You're right, it's pretty common. Your best bet is to investigate your fake profile's friends, especially the ones in the top 5. The author (or authors) of your page is probably one of those friends. Read their comments, read what people comment on their pages, etc. It won't be too hard to figure out who made the page. Once you do that, let your principal know, and he/she can take it from there. A lot of times once they're busted, they'll remove the page. The threat of revealing what they've done to their parents is always a good motivation to get them to stop.

You should contact Myspace and file a report - they will take it down. You should also follow through with the school/parents of these kids because that isn't cool...

You can contact MySpace administrators. In addition, you can tell MySpace that a lawyer will be involved if they do not cancel such account.

talk to the student and demand that she delete the myspace. are the school officials doing anything about it? you could also try contacting myspace and telling them what happened.

Only thing you can do is report the page to myspace. Tell them your pic is on there w/out permission. They will open another account. The more you fight this the more it will go around. If ya keep fighting I'll see ya on youtube.

Sadly, it is pretty common for students to make fake profiles of their teachers. The best thing to do would be to report the profile. Myspace is getting better about these kinds of things. You might also want to ask around, it's surprising how much some people know. Remember - don't take this too personally. This will all get sorted out soon. =] Good luck!

I dont know if there is anything you can do about it but this is something that happens all the time, I had someone take a photo of mine from my space and open a craigslist ad looking for a threesome., who ever answered was going to be surprised when they saw that was not me, I'm sure there have been others who have used your photo and mine and everyone Else's but i suggest you let it go there is nothing you can do besides report it to the myspace admin and see if something can be done about it.. then again they can look at it as if your the one lying so its along shot but worth a try,,

in the mean time look at like a compliment that someone is taking the time to use your pic!

Go on myspace, and go to "report user" . If you can't find that link, go on myspace, and scroll to the very bottom of the page. There will be a link that says, "contact myspace". Click that and the people at myspace can evaluate the page and WILL shut it down for violating the use of myspace. They can also find out who made the page, if you want them to investigate it.

I'm sorry that happened to you. People can usually figure out when pages are fake... so don't worry about people thinking you made the page for yourself. But, the person who did it is in need of punishment/suspension.

Click the help button on my space, which is next to the sin out button at the top right hand corner on any my space page.

Than on the left hand column look for Identity Theft.

It will tell you hat to do.

OMG that sounds terrible!

You definitely have to report it to My Space. Maybe they know who posted it and can cancel them. Then, take it further . . . someone will talk and when you find out who did that, make a police report against them.

Good Luck. I've not heard that it is a common thing that happens to teachers, but this happened to my brother-in-laws resort in the California Mountains by a disgruntled guest. He really made a mockery of the website he created that could easily be found by anyone googling his resort.

I have heard of this before you need to report it to the myspace creator Tom go to myspace.com and search him when you get to his page send him a message and tell him your delima he can delete the account for you. Toms page is very plain and he has on his page that he is the creator so be sure to find that before you send the message. Tom will straighten it all out for you.

And it is common but I assure you it's not something to worry about they were just looking instant gratification among their peers by playing a joke on you.

WOW....one of my teachers are in the exact same situation...a student of hers made a very inappropriate obscene myspace page about her and photo-shopped her photo into pornographic images...it was very cruel. it might be from being strict or taking the specific student under disciplinary actions, or even from being attractive ( u might get a stalker on ur hands)...in any manner, it is very harsh and wrong to do to anyone and sadly, there isnt much u can do fix the image it gave to all who have accessed it...im sorry it has happened but all those who no u will no its not true and that's whats most important...i hope ur situation gets better :)

Report it to myspace. You are not the first one this has happened to, but myspace is very good about deleting this stuff.

As for the kid who did this, I think you should not only notify the school, but WHERE IS THIS KIDS PARENTS??? Why is this child not being supervised?? The TV used to be the free babysitter, now that has evolved into something alot more dangerous: the Internet!

Talk to your principal about it, let him/her know what happened. If this hurts your for any reason at all, I would defiantly think about taking legal action.

I haven't heard much about students doing this, but I teach primary kids. Most of them can only log into disney.com...if that.
